Lanco has had 25 years of an enriching journey covering significant milestones. It has now decided to adorn a new brand identity to represent its diverse businesses, its global aspirations and to realize its vision of becoming the most admired integrated enterprise. Beginning from a small family-business to today’s thoroughly professional enterprise, Lanco has entered a new era, establishing its new identity and fulfilling newer responsibilities. On this special occasion, Lanco thanks the entire nation and makes a renewed resolve to continue contributing towards India’s economic and inclusive growth.
A diversified conglomerate with operations across 20 states in India and over 10 countries overseas, Lanco focuses on 5 business verticals – Power, EPC, Solar, Natural Resources and Infrastructure. It is currently amongst the top 40 private sector companies in India on the basis of composite ranking. In a short span of time, it has achieved an impressive growth in revenues from Rs. 1,652 Cr. in FY2007 to Rs. 11,303 Cr. in FY2011 at a CAGR of 62% and from an Asset Base of Rs. 4,748 Cr. in FY2007 to Rs. 39,495 Cr. in FY2011 at a CAGR of 70%. The number of employees has grown from 1,200 in FY2007 to 7000 in FY2011. 
Recently, Lanco made one of India’s largest acquisitions of operational coal mines in Western Australia. With its global aspirations, surge in businesses and significant pipeline of upcoming projects, Lanco foresees manifold growth opportunities both nationally and internationally and is well poised for growth in revenues by more than 5 times in the coming 5 years. As the individual business verticals achieve even more significant size and scale over a period of time, Lanco’s leadership envisions each of these developing into distinct independent listed entities.
Power
Lanco is the nation’s leading Independent Power Producer. The current installed capacity base is 3,300 MW built at a capital cost of Rs. 15,800 Cr. 6,000 MW of capacity, at a capital cost of Rs. 32,550 Cr. is financially closed and is under construction. 6,200 MW capacity is under advanced development. With this, Lanco is all set towards accomplishing its vision of achieving 15,000 MW of installed capacity by 2015.
EPC
Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) business recorded a turnover of Rs. 5,962 Cr. for FY2011. As on 31st March 2011, the order-book stood at Rs. 30,200 Cr. It is now gearing up to leverage business opportunities by restructuring  its operations under 7 key verticals viz. Thermal Power, Hydro Power, Oil and Gas, Water, Minerals & Metals, Land & Marine Transportation and Electricals. With this new strategic initiative, Lanco is poised to establish itself as an admired EPC player.
Solar
With an end to end business model spanning integrated manufacturing facility, solar power generation (both Solar Thermal and Solar PV), Solar EPC services, and solar products & systems, Lanco is well set to emerge as a leading solar player in the world by 2015. It has lined up an impressive list of projects across the entire solar value chain in India and overseas.
Natural Resources
Having acquired Griffin Coal mine in Australia Lanco is now focusing upon acquisition of further coal assets in Indonesia, South Africa, Australia and India. 
Infrastructure
Lanco emerged as the successful bidder for developing Aligarh to Kanpur Section of National Highway – 91 in the State of Uttar Pradesh on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) on Toll Basis. This National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) project involves an investment of around Rs. 1,000 Cr. with a grant of Rs. 288 Cr. from NHAI. Besides this, it is on the verge of completing two road projects in the state of Karnataka totaling around 160 km.
Lanco Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm, focuses on Health, Education, Provision of Safe Drinking Water, Community Development, and Artificial Limb Fitting Centres. It is currently active in 12 states spanning across 140 villages and is directly helping more than 2,00,000 people.    
Lanco today has a workforce of 7000 of which 8% are based overseas. It envisages its workforce growing to 20,000 inspired Lanconians by 2015. It believes that human capital is the enabler in meeting its growth aspirations.
