Pune, Maharashtra, India, June 28, 2011 — Bank of Maharashtra, the Pune based Public Sector Bank and SBI Cards (SBI Cards and Payments Services Pvt Ltd) India’s leading credit card issuer, today announced that they have joined hands to launch a new co-branded credit card product suite, under the name of SBI-Bank of Maharashtra Card for the customers of Bank of Maharashtra.
The new Credit Card product was launched at a function held in the central office of the Bank at Pune today at the hands of Shri. A.S.Bhattacharya, Chairman and Managing Director, Bank of Maharashtra and Shri Diwakar Gupta, MD and CFO of State Bank of India.
The function was graced by Ms Kamala Rajan, Shri Anand Pandit, Shri D S Patel, Dr S.U.Deshpande, Shri S H Kocheta, Shri S.D.Dhanak, Dr Naresh Kumar, all members of the Board of Bank of Maharashtra, Shri M.G. Sanghvi, Executive Director, Bank of Maharashtra, Shri Kadambi Narahari, CEO, SBI Cards and Payments Services Pvt Ltd (SBI Cards), Shri Sanjeev Jain, CEO, GECBPMSL and other senior executives of the Bank.
The SBI- Bank of Maharashtra credit card is available in two variants, Platinum and Gold cards, offering distinct and exclusive benefits for Bank of Maharashtra customers.

The SBI Bank of Maharashtra Platinum Card, is a new premium offering card targeted at high income, high spending customers who seek a differentiated and relevant value proposition. The platinum card offers a unique bouquet of benefits which include:

Speaking on the occasion, Shri A.S Bhattacharya, CMD, Bank of Maharashtra, said that the partnership is an example of synergies which two trusted partners in India derived by coming together. Shri. Bhattacharya also added that the new initiative is a value addition to the bouquet of the Bank’s products/ services offered to its customers for enhancing their banking comfort with the Bank. He also informed that Bank has been taking numerous initiatives in recent past expanding its umbrella of services for its customers, such as special branch for SHGs, Senior Citizens, Corporates etc. Now, the present initiative is to meet the long felt need of most of the customers to have a widely acceptable Credit Card from Mahabank.
